Workspaces

Manage strategy within dedicated departmental workspaces.

Every department within Telblu automatically receives its own workspace. A workspace is where department leaders create, maintain and review their strategy, objectives, initiatives, KPIs, risks and governance activities.

Department Workspace

Each department operates in its own workspace with dedicated strategy, objectives, initiatives, KPIs, risks and reviews scoped to the department's remit.

Strategy Management

Workspaces are where department strategies are authored, maintained and reviewed. Objectives, initiatives and KPIs are created inside the workspace and linked to the live strategy.

Executive Visibility

Workspace data rolls up into the Executive Control Centre, giving executives a consolidated view of performance, risk and governance across every department.

AI Intelligence

AI reads approved workspace data to detect patterns, explain performance and generate recommendations scoped to the department and organisation.

Overview

A workspace is the operational environment for a single department.

Rather than storing strategies in PowerPoint, Word documents or spreadsheets, each department manages its live strategy directly within its workspace.

Every update made within a workspace contributes to organisation-wide executive reporting and AI Executive Intelligence.

Workspace Architecture

A workspace is isolated to its department while remaining connected to organisation-wide reporting. The architecture below shows how a department owns a single workspace, and how that workspace contains every strategic object required to plan, execute, measure and govern departmental performance.

Department isolation

Each workspace is scoped to exactly one department. Members of one workspace cannot modify objects in another workspace unless explicitly authorised.

Connected reporting

Because every workspace object carries the department and organisation identifiers, data can be aggregated consistently across all workspaces.

Single source of truth

The workspace replaces static documents with a live, reviewable strategy record that is always current and always linked to execution.

Workspace Components

A workspace is composed of enterprise-grade components that together cover the full strategy-to-execution lifecycle. Each component is owned, maintained and reviewed inside the workspace before contributing to executive reporting and AI analysis.

Strategy

Manage departmental strategic plans. The workspace strategy defines priorities, scope and direction for every downstream objective and initiative.

Objectives

Define measurable strategic outcomes. Objectives translate high-level strategy into concrete commitments with owners, timeframes and success criteria.

Initiatives

Track delivery activities supporting strategic objectives. Initiatives capture milestones, resources, dependencies and progress status.

KPIs

Monitor strategic performance over time. Key performance indicators provide the quantitative evidence used in departmental and executive reviews.

Risks

Identify and manage strategic risks affecting delivery. Risks are assessed, owned and mitigated within the workspace context.

Reviews

Record executive updates, commentary and review outcomes. Reviews capture qualitative assessment, decisions and forward-looking plans.

AI Insights

Review AI-generated observations based on approved strategy and performance data. Insights are scoped to the workspace and organisation.

Workspace Lifecycle

Workspaces progress through a defined lifecycle from creation to executive roll-up. Each stage represents a point of maturity where ownership, content or analysis is established before the next stage begins.

Workspace Created

An administrator or automated provisioning process creates the workspace. The workspace is given a name, status and initial ownership.

Department Assigned

The workspace is bound to a department. This assignment determines membership, reporting scope and which executive audience can view the workspace.

Strategy Added

The department leader or strategy owner authors the active strategy. The strategy sets the direction for all subsequent objectives and initiatives.

Objectives Defined

Measurable outcomes are created and linked to the strategy. Each objective has an owner, timeframe and success criteria.

Initiatives Managed

Projects and activities are planned, resourced and tracked. Milestones and dependencies are updated as work progresses.

Performance Reviewed

KPIs are recorded and assessed against targets. Reviews capture commentary, decisions and forward-looking plans.

AI Analysis

AI evaluates approved workspace data to detect patterns, anomalies and opportunities. Insights are scoped to the workspace and organisation.

Executive Roll-up

Consolidated workspace data flows into the Executive Control Centre, where executives and the CEO review organisation-wide performance and risk.

Workspace Hierarchy

Every workspace sits inside a department and becomes the operational container for that department's strategy and execution. The hierarchy below shows how workspaces fit between departments and strategy, and how execution, performance, risk and governance flow back up into the Executive Control Centre.

Department-scoped environment

Each workspace is bound to exactly one department. Workspace members manage content without needing access to other departments' workspaces.

Live strategy container

The workspace replaces static documents with structured, reviewable strategy records that are always current and always linked to execution.

Executive roll-up

Because every object inside a workspace carries the department and organisation identifiers, the Executive Control Centre can aggregate data consistently across all workspaces.

Workspace Configuration

The configuration panel below shows the settings administrators review and maintain for a workspace. These values define how the workspace appears in reporting, who owns strategy and reviews, and how often performance is assessed.

What belongs to a Workspace?

A workspace owns the full set of strategic objects required to plan, execute, measure and govern a department's work. Every object below is created within the workspace and carries the workspace and department identifiers, so reporting and AI analysis can be scoped accurately.

Strategy

Department strategic plan maintained inside the workspace. Each workspace holds a single active strategy that defines priorities and sets direction for objectives and resource allocation.

Objectives

Strategic outcomes the department is responsible for delivering. Objectives translate the workspace strategy into measurable commitments with owners, timeframes and success criteria.

Initiatives

Projects and activities supporting strategic objectives. Initiatives capture the work required to move objectives forward, including milestones, resources and progress status.

KPIs

Measures used to monitor strategic performance. Key performance indicators track progress against objectives and feed departmental and executive reporting.

Risks

Strategic risks owned by the department. Risks are identified, assessed and tracked within the workspace against the objectives and initiatives they threaten, with mitigation plans assigned to owners.

Reviews

Regular strategy reviews, commentary and progress updates. Reviews capture qualitative assessment, blockers, decisions and forward-looking commentary for executive visibility.

Within each workspace users can:

Maintain strategy

Update objectives

Track initiatives

Monitor KPIs

Record strategic risks

Submit executive updates

Review AI insights

Prepare governance reviews

Workspace access is governed by the organisation's role and permission model. Department members can manage content inside their own workspace, while executives and administrators can view aggregated data across workspaces from the Executive Control Centre.

Workspace Ownership

Ownership defines who is accountable for a workspace's strategy and who is authorised to maintain the objects inside it. Clear ownership ensures that every strategic object has a responsible owner and that executive reporting is trustworthy.

Department Leader

Accountable for workspace strategy, execution and reporting

Strategy Owner

Maintains the active workspace strategy and strategic priorities

Contributors

Team members who update objectives, initiatives, KPIs and risks inside the workspace

Executive Sponsor

Optional senior leader who reviews escalations and governance items

The relationship diagram below shows how accountability flows from the department through the workspace, leader, strategy, contributors and into executive review. Each layer depends on the one above it, creating a clear chain of ownership.

Department

Functional group and reporting line

Workspace

Dedicated strategy environment

Department Leader

Single point of accountability

Strategy

Owned and maintained by the leader

Contributors

Execute and update workspace objects

Executive Review

Governance and escalation oversight

A workspace must have exactly one Department Leader. The Strategy Owner is typically the same person but can be assigned separately in larger departments. Contributors may be added or removed without changing the workspace's accountability. The Executive Sponsor is optional and is most commonly used when a workspace requires regular board or executive committee oversight.

Executive Roll-up

Workspace information contributes to executive reporting by rolling up from each departmental workspace into the Executive Control Centre. Because every object carries the workspace, department and organisation identifiers, the platform can aggregate performance, risk and governance data consistently without requiring manual consolidation.

Executives never manage workspace strategies directly. They consume the consolidated executive view generated from workspaces, which provides the context needed for strategic decisions while preserving the autonomy of department leaders.

Consolidated view

The Executive Control Centre aggregates data from every workspace into a single executive-ready interface.

Decision support

Executives and the CEO use the consolidated view to identify trends, allocate resources and govern the organisation.

AI Analysis

Telblu's AI continuously evaluates approved workspace data and transforms it into executive intelligence. Analysis is scoped to the organisation and department, so insights are always grounded in the correct organisational context.

AI continuously evaluates:

Strategy updates

Detects changes in strategic direction, priority shifts and plan revisions within a workspace.

Objective progress

Tracks completion rates, trajectory and alignment with stated outcomes.

KPI movement

Identifies trends, anomalies and threshold breaches in performance indicators.

Initiative delivery

Assesses milestone progress, resource risk and schedule health.

Strategic risks

Correlates risk exposure with objectives and initiatives.

Executive commentary

Reads qualitative updates for sentiment, blockers and forward-looking signals.

These signals contribute to organisation-wide executive intelligence. AI outputs are surfaced inside the Executive Control Centre and are scoped by role, so users only see intelligence relevant to their authorised workspaces and executive audience.

Workspace Administration

Administrators manage the workspace catalogue and ownership model. Because a workspace is automatically created for each department, administration focuses on ownership, access and configuration rather than manual provisioning.

Create workspaces automatically when departments are created

Assign department ownership

Configure workspace access

Enable or disable workspaces

Review workspace activity

Maintain department configuration

Changes to workspace ownership or status are recorded in the audit log. Disabling a workspace prevents new objects from being created against it while preserving historical records for reporting and compliance.

Best Practices

Information

Maintain one workspace per department

Each department should have exactly one workspace. Multiple workspaces for the same department fragment strategy, duplicate ownership and create inconsistent executive reporting.

Best Practice

Keep departmental strategies current

Regularly update the workspace strategy, objectives and initiatives so AI insights and executive reporting reflect the latest organisational position. Stale data reduces the value of automated analysis.

Note

Changes become available once approved

Changes made within a workspace immediately become available for executive reporting once they pass any required approval or review step. Draft or unapproved changes remain scoped to the workspace.

Workspace Relationships

A workspace is not a separate business object. It is the dedicated operational environment automatically created for each department, where strategy is managed and maintained before rolling up into executive visibility and AI analysis.

The diagram below shows how workspaces sit between departments and strategy, and how strategy, performance, risk and governance flow through AI Executive Intelligence into the Executive Control Centre.

AI and executive input

AI analysis and executive reporting consume approved workspace data to produce organisation-wide intelligence.

The Workspace is therefore the first object users interact with when executing strategy inside Telblu. Departments define the organisational boundary, but workspaces define where the live strategy is maintained, who is accountable and how strategic information flows into executive and AI systems.
